ABOUT ABOUT

City Lobby is the Urban Consulate's new pop-up parlor for urban exchange for people who love cities. Monthly on First Thursdays, beginning in May, we'll feature a few guests -- some local, some from out of town, some with outside perspective due to work or recent travel/experience -- who will share their work, recent projects, or top-of-mind issues related to cities. Come for a cocktail, stay for conversation. Locals and travelers welcome!

In May, join us for conversation with Claire Nelson, creator of Urban Consulate, Joan Vorderbruggen, Cultural District Arts Coordinator for Hennepin Theatre Trust, and Dwayne Wharton, Director of External Affairs at The Food Trust.

Special guests:

Claire Nelson (Detroit, New Orleans) is founder of Urban Consulate, a new network for city dwellers and travelers seeking cross-city exchange. Winner of the 2015 Knight Cities Challenge, Nelson is also director of Urban Innovation Exchange.

Joan Vorderbruggen (Minneapolis) is the Cultural District Arts Coordinator for Hennepin Theatre Trust. An artist and organizer, Joan envisions possibilities for the most dejected spaces, connecting local and international artists with opportunities to revitalize blighted areas in the West Downtown Minneapolis Cultural District.

Dwayne Wharton (Philadelphia) works on local and national advocacy efforts for the Food Trust helping to ensure that everyone has access to affordable, nutritious food and information to make healthy decisions.

Free to attend. Drink specials offered. Hosted by Jermaine Jenkins and Michelle Freeman of Witty Gritty.
Thanks to Knight Foundation and Le Meridian - Philadelphia!
